The Significance of OBEYING the Apostle Paul's Gospel
Can Christians still be 'Saved' if they put their faith and trust in a false gospel? This article reveals that Paul's Gospel is the ONLY Gospel that can save a soul from spending eternity in Hell.
Recently I received a comment on one of my YouTube videos that condemned me for criticising a preacher who promoted the false gospel of ‘Once Saved, Always Saved’.
In my response, I wrote in some detail that the Apostle Paul’s Gospel MUST be OBEYED, and that the failure of any Christian to understand what Paul’s Gospel represents—and to then implement those requirements will see them regretting such a failure throughout eternity. I have reproduced and elaborated on my YouTube comment below.
I urge every Christian reading this article to consider what the Bible reveals about Paul’s Gospel, and maybe placing a comment below to commence a discussion about this vital topic.
Morality in today‘s society is the same as in Noah and Lot’s days
In the Bible verses below, the Apostle Luke reveals what daily life was like when Noah and Lot walked upon the Earth:
“And as it was in the days of Noe [i.e. Noah], so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man [prior to Christ’s return in the Rapture]. 27 They did EAT, they DRANK, they MARRIED WIVES, they were GIVEN IN MARRIAGE [i.e. normal daily activities], until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. 28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did EAT, they DRANK, they BOUGHT, they SOLD, they PLANTED, they BUILDED [houses, meaning—normal daily activities]; 29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. 30 Even thus shall it be in the day [we are currently living in] when the Son of man is revealed [in the clouds - 1 Thessalonians 4:15-18].” (Luke 17:26-30)
In relation to the above photo, I find that I receive a similar reaction from most Christians when I claim that ALL Christians MUST OBEY the Apostle Paul's Gospel to be ‘Saved’:
"But THEY [i.e. today's Christians] HAVE NOT ALL OBEYED THE [Apostle Paul’s] GOSPEL. For Esaias [Isaiah 53:1] saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?" (Romans 10:16)
There are TWO GOSPELS mentioned by the Apostle Paul in scripture, of which the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the only one promoted in today’s churches:
"But contrariwise, when they saw that THE GOSPEL OF UNCIRCUMCISION was committed unto me [Paul], as THE GOSPEL OF CIRCUMCISION was unto Peter;" (Galatians 2:7)
Some Christians falsely claim that these two gospels are the same—but they are not. One was given by Jesus Christ to His disciples; the other was given privately by Jesus to the Apostle Paul, supernaturally.
In this, THE GOSPEL OF CIRCUMCISION represents the Gospel of Jesus Christ that ALL Christians are required to preach to unsaved sinners everywhere (Matthew 24:14). The message should contain several of the Ten Commandments to convict sinners that God's judgment awaits them unless they REPENT from their sinful ways. This Gospel MUST be preached to both Jews and Gentiles alike.
An example of the Gospel being shared
Please spend 7 minutes watching the video below that describes how the Gospel of Jesus Christ is to be presented to an unsaved sinner. In other words, this Gospel aims to transform the sinner out of Satan’s kingdom into God’s kingdom using several of the Ten Commandments.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ was given by Jesus Christ to His disciples in its basic form, as stated in Matthew 16:21. It can only save a sinner from Hell if they die shortly after they received Christ as their Savior (Hebrews 7:25).
The Apostle Paul’s Gospel Explained
On the contrary, THE GOSPEL OF UNCIRCUMCISION was given by Jesus to Paul supernaturally:
"But I certify you, brethren, that THE GOSPEL WHICH WAS PREACHED OF ME IS NOT AFTER [the instruction of any] MAN. 12 For I NEITHER RECEIVED IT OF [a] MAN, NEITHER WAS I TAUGHT IT [of any man], but by THE REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST [to me, personally]." (Galatians 1:11-12)
The term "My Gospel" is used by Paul in Romans 2:16; 16:25; 2 Timothy 2:8.
Paul's Gospel aims to help God's children become “…a new creature in Christ Jesus” (2 Corinthians 5:17). Several of these requirements to become a new creature are to become:
As HOLY as God the Father is holy (1 Peter 1:16; Hebrews 12:14)
As PERFECT as God the Father is perfect (Matthew 5:48)
Able to LOVE God and one's neighbour as people love themselves (Mark 12:30-31)
Able to LOVE and PRAY for one's own ENEMIES (Matthew 5:44)
One must first COUNT THE PERSONAL COST associated with becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ. This includes FORESAKING ALL that one owns so as to serve Christ (Luke 14:26-33).
Able to become an ACTIVE (spiritual) MEMBER of the Body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:12-20)
Able to exercise at least ONE of the NINE SPIRITUAL GIFTS (1 Corinthians 12:8-11)
Able to do the SAME WORKS (or miracles) that Jesus Christ performed while He was on Earth (John 14:12)
Able to bring unto God the Father, the required quantity of spiritual "FRUIT" necessary for Salvation that can only be produced through "WORKS" (John 15:1-2, 6; Ephesians 2:10).
Conclusions to be drawn from the Apostle Paul’s Gospel
Obviously, many Christians over the decades (and even throughout the last century or more) have baulked at such onerous conditions being essential for Salvation. Instead of becoming WISE UNTO SALVATION (2 Timothy 3:15; Philippians 2:12), false preachers who promote the 'easy-to-believe' (false) gospel of 'Once Saved, Always Saved'' have enticed many Christians into discarding the scripture verses that prove their gospels to be false. In this they say (as just one recent example):
"You can't use the Old Testament verses in the Gospel to prove anything in this church age of grace."
On the contrary, the Bible says that:
"ALL SCRIPTURE [in both Testaments] IS GIVEN BY INSPIRATION OF GOD, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be PERFECT [as commended by Jesus in Matthew 5:48], thoroughly furnished unto ALL GOOD WORKS." (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
In the Book of Romans, the Apostle Paul laments that back in his day, Christians to whom he had preached his gospel:
"...HAVE NOT ALL OBEYED THE GOSPEL. For Esaias [Isaiah 53:1] saith, Lord, who hath believed our report [that the Apostle Paul’s Gospel must be obeyed]?" (Romans 10:16)
Paul states plainly that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is received and believed by FAITH ALONE and NOT OF WORKS (Ephesians 2:8-9). This means the requirement for any OBEDIENCE associated with accepting Jesus Christ as Saviour does not exist, otherwise it could be argued one is working for their Salvation.
“Therefore as by the offence of one [i.e. Adam] judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one [i.e. Jesus Christ - 1 Corinthians 15:45] the FREE GIFT came upon all men unto justification of life.” (Romans 5:18; 15, 16)
What is presented above indicates that Jesus Christ demands that Paul's Gospel is to be OBEYED as a requirement for entry into Heaven. Any failure on any Christian’s part to OBEY PAUL'S GOSPEL means NO Salvation!
"If a [Christian] MAN [or woman] ABIDE NOT IN ME [by embracing a false gospel - 2 Corinthians 11:13-14], he [or she] is CAST FORTH [from Christ - spiritually] AS A [fruitless] BRANCH, and is [then become spiritually] withered [or 'dry']; and men [meaning angels - Matthew 13:41-42 later] gather them, and CAST THEM INTO THE [Lake of] FIRE, and they are BURNED [throughout eternity in their immortal bodies - Isaiah 66:22-24]." (John 15:6)
To confirm this claim, Jesus Christ informed Paul that He will use Paul's Gospel at the Great White Throne Judgment to determine if all professing 'Christians' who appear before Him have OBEYED PAUL'S GOSPEL or not. If they have, their names will remain in the Lamb's Book of Life. If not, their names will not appear in the Lamb's Book of Life (Revelation 3:5):
"And I saw the [spiritually] dead [in their resurrected immortal bodies], small and great, stand before God; and the books [of each individual] were opened: and ANOTHER BOOK WAS OPENED, which is the BOOK OF LIFE [containing the name of each “approved” saint - 2 Timothy 2:15]: and the [living] dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, ACCORDING TO THEIR WORKS [of their rebellion against God]...15 And whosoever [as a professing Christian] WAS NOT FOUND WRITTEN IN THE BOOK OF LIFE WAS CAST INTO THE LAKE OF FIRE." (Revelation 20:12, 15)
"In the day [of Judgment] when God [the Father] shall judge the secrets of [each 'Foolish Virgin' - Matthew 25:1-13; meaning] men [and women] by Jesus Christ ACCORDING TO MY GOSPEL." (Romans 2:16)
If any Christian has been found DISOBEDIENT towards serving God and Christ throughout their lifetime on Earth (Matthew 25:21; Romans 14:17-19), this means their names will have at some time been blotted out of the Lamb's Book of Life.
Now is the time to reflect upon whether one’s name still appears in the Book of Life or not!
